We are always looking for volunteers to to help with special events, write newsletter articles, attend public meetings, give legal assistance, work on public relations, and even stuff envelopes. If you have any special talent to share or just want to get involved please email us so we can contact you.

Committees

If you have a about five extra hours per month, you can volunteer to join a committee. We have three regular committees open to the general membership.

The Advocacy Committee is responsible for discussing the priority historic buildings to save, and giving testimony at public meetings when needed.

The Education Committee organizes tours, lectures, movie nights and other educational activities and edits the Newsletter.

The Fundraising Committee plans events designed to help sustain our advocacy and education activities, and brings in sponsorship from local companies and residents.

Board Membership

The Board of Directors are the core of PAC*SJ. They formulate the overall strategy, secure PAC*SJ's financial stability, and contribute their ideas, expertise and resources to make San Jose a better place. If you enjoy serving on a committee and have ten hours or more to spare per month, please review the Board member requirements and application then email us. We will contact you to discuss the next steps.

San Jose

San Jose is California’s oldest civilian settlement, founded in 1777. It has a wealth of historic buildings, including over 160 City Landmarks and six historic districts (St. James Park, Alameda, Hensley, Lakehouse, Reed & River Street). However, this rich heritage is not well known outside San Jose.

PAC*SJ works hard to preserve our historic resources and promote San Jose’s glorious buildings, people and traditions. We also convene educational events to help residents of San Jose to learn about their local history.
