Willow Glen Trestle - lost July 2020

The City of San Jose has completed demolition of the Willow Glen Trestle, ending a hard-fought seven-year battle to save and repurpose the historic former railroad bridge. All traces of the 99-year-old timber structure have now been removed from the banks of Los Gatos Creek, where a prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge is slated to connect two segments of the Los Gatos Creek Trail. The construction schedule for the new span is currently unknown.

The battle to save the Trestle was hard fought, winning to have the structure placed on the California Register of Historical Resources in 2017.  We are sad to have lost this important piece of Willow Glen history.
